I dug deep for this in the archives of my cringe-worthy years in high school, but here is my very first dip in the pool of music journalism. This was maybe my second or third time seeing one my all time favorite bands growing up when I barely started going to shows with my older brother. Thanks to the incredible soundtrack of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 2, a staple in every kid’s life growing up with older siblings in the 2000s, I became a longtime fan of the sci-fi-loving rock’n’rollers from space, Powerman 5000. I was a young and completely inexperienced kid at fifteen years old that had just enrolled in an introductory journalism class as an elective. Needless to say that I was completely nervous and scared to interview these guys for a thousand reasons, but all of that instantly ceased once I started talking with Spider who is absolutely one of the most down to earth guys in music – which is ironic to say, him being a spaceman and all.  Enjoy this little gem and awkward me!
